BROADCAST AND TRANSMISSION TOWERS. IN: STRUCTURAL CONDITION ASSESSMENT

The development of wireless communications has created a need for tower structures. As new forms of communications were developed, the demand for towers increased dramatically to the point where the proliferation of tower structures for radio and television broadcasting, emergency communications, data transmission, and cellular telephone systems. Assessment of the structural condition of these towers is important, not only to prevent interruptions of the communications systems, but also to protect the safety o the general public. Therefore, it is important that a periodic structural condition assessment program be developed for every tower structure.
