DYNAMIC INTERACTION ANALYSIS OF AN UNLIMITED NUMBER OF SHINKANSEN CARS RUNNING ON THE RAILWAY TRACK

An efficient numerical method to obtain an approximated combined dynamic response between a Shinkansen train (bullet train) and the railway structure when unlimited number of the cars run on the track is presented. A mechanical model to treat the interaction between wheel and rail in transverse and vertical directions is described, where the effect of irregularities on the surfaces of the rail and wheel are taken into account. Based on the present method, the combined dynamic behavior of a Shinkansen train connected with an unlimited number of cars and a newly developed floating ladder track is studied.
