STAKER & PARSON COMPANIES WINS NATIONAL ECOLOGICAL PRIZE

This article presents the winner of the National Asphalt Pavement Association's (NAPA) Ecological Award, recognizing hot mix asphalt (HMA) facilities that are exceptional stewards of the environment. The 2004 winner, Staker & Parson Companies, was recognized for its quality control and production, best management practices to control discharges and emissions at the plant site, aesthetically pleasing landscaping, and community involvement. The finalists, Valley Asphalt and Granite Construction, were recognized for their tight controls on emission and noise, outreach programs, and for making asphalt plants as environmentally friendly as possible.
