GATIC SLOTDRAIN - AIRPORT DRAINAGE
This article relates that a slot design airport drainage system will be installed on most UK airports. The final result resembles a long thin line in the runway concrete, but a diagram of a cross-section shows a hexagonal pipe running underneath the concrete and attached to the thin slot. Water fills the slot and flows away from the runway. The product, which is manufactured out of reinforced steel, is capable of withstanding the heavy loads of an over passing airplane
