IDENTIFICATION OF ROLLING STOCK LATERAL DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS AND THEIR TRACK IRREGULARITY MAINTENANCE APPLICATIONS

This article presents a study of lateral dynamic forces of rolling stock and their implications for track deterioration and restoration. The researchers identified different components of these lateral forces and created models to predict how rolling stock would affect track on curved sections. The models make it possible to understand the relationship between track geometry and how rolling stock will behave in terms of lateral forces. This understanding is essential for track maintenance programs to be effective and applied in a timely manner. The model allows more accurate predictions with fewer observations and measurements, reducing maintenance costs. In addition, it makes it easier to estimate the quality of ride and operational safety of vehicles.
