IMPROVING EPOXY-COATED STEEL REINFORCING BARS
Epoxy-coated concrete reinforcement helps in the prevention of corrosion on bridges. The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CSRI) developed the Plant Certification Program to establish stringent quality-control procedures. The voluntary certification program verifies if a plant has the capabilities to produce epoxy-coated bars in accordance with industry standards and provides recognition to the plants that successfully implement the program's requirements. The article also discusses the essentials of repair, fabrication, handling, and storage related to epoxy-coated reinforcing bars.
