AN INVENTORY OF CALIFORNIA DRIVER ACCIDENT RISK FACTORS
This report, an update to a 1994 report, presents driver record information on a random sample of over 200,000 California drivers and driver record histories over varying time periods. The report is intended to provide highway safety administrators, insurance industry representatives, traffic safety researchers , and organization involved in risk assessment and risk management with actuarial data on driver accident risk profiles. These issues related to assessing traffic accident risk are discussed: driver record in relation to gender and age; accident-repeater phenomenon; relationship between traffic accidents, citations, and multiple driver record variables; and, multiple logistic and negative binomial regression equations of accident risk factors and relativities.
