A previous sinking test performed in 1971 in Hamburg, Germany was translated, and studied. It is appended. It is recommended that the test model be made only for the stern of the tanker and be made of transparent plastic so as to monitor the entrapped air; it is also recommended that the velocity and attitude of the sinking model be recorded only by camera. A list of U.S. Model tanks suitable for this test and a rough cost estimate are given.
