Everyone travelling on European roads while holidaying will experience differences from country to country. These differences relate not only to life style, culture and weather conditions but also to infrastructure. For instance, if you are looking for directions, signage may look differently and may be placed in different locations. Speed limits differ from country; to country or even from region to region. However large the differences in infrastructure and/or legislation may seem, every road user has the same basic needs: that the road surface should sufficiently smooth to drive on, road markings should be visible and the signing should be adequate and understandable.
