CHUTZPAH AIRLINE: PRIVATIZED AND PROFITABLE, EL AL BROADENS ITS MARKET NICHE AS A TAKEOVER BY ARKIA LOOMS
A profile of Israeli airline El Al, this article lists the companys destination cities, aircraft stock and partnerships. It also details post-privatization financial health and explains the causes for El Als financial turnaround, focusing on flight scheduling and personnel changes. Selected financial and traffic results from 2001-2003 are tabled, as well as revenues by region. The article also includes a diagram of a redesign for Ben Gurion Airport, featuring the new Terminal Three. The article concludes with information on El Als IPO and current shareholder information, as well as predictions regarding future personnel changes.
