WOMEN ON THE MOVE, TRANSPORT FOR WOMEN!

The article argues that since women account for half the world's population and make up two thirds of public transit customers, yet they are seldom found in professional mobility circles, which means that decisions made by men often favor technical standpoints and hard technology aspects, whereas women users are more sensitive to soft aspects and service quality. The article looks at the GART conference "Femmes en mouvement, les transports au feminin". The conference's aim is for women's needs to be better integrated into travel policies, particularly in public transport.
