TODAY'S KEY TRANSPORTATION AGENCY WORKFORCE ISSUES
The article recognizes that transportation agencies will be losing nearly 50% of their workforce because of retirements within the next 5 to 10 years. Discussed is how the state transportation departments can reorient their human resources efforts over the next two decades. A brief description is provided of the key components of the current workforce challenge in transportation agencies. Several tactics are suggested to meet the challenges.
