OBSERVATIONS OF PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE AND POROUS FRICTION COURSE PAVEMENT CONSTRUCTION

The results from inspection trips to five construction sites where portland cement concrete (PCC) pavements were being constructed and one site where a porous friction course was being constructed are reported. Construction procedures, job specifications, and inspection and testing procedures were observed to determine if they were compatible with current Corps of Engineers paving specifications.
