OIL SPILLAGE STUDY: LITERATURE SEARCH AND CRITICAL EVALUATION FOR SELECTION OF PROMISING TECHNIQUES TO CONTROL AND PREVENT DAMAGE
Specific areas of the study summarized in this report are as follows: technical aspects of tank vessel design as related to prevention of oil spillage; on-scene control of gross leakage; destruction or recovery of open sea oil slicks; disposal of recovered mixtures; protection of the shore face and estuaries; cleaning of shore face and estuaries; slick surveillance and behavior prediction; effect of oil pollution and treatment agents on marine flora and fauna; and waterfowl recovery nethods.
