PRE-SLINGING--HOLDING DOWN A CORNER OF THE MARKET

Pre-slinging as a means of unitisation is fast becoming an accepted means of cargo handling because of its efficiency and its economic benefits. Some manufacturers, however, believe that more co-operation is needed if shippers are going to take full advantage of pre-slinging--and the more recent Intermediate Bulk Containers--as an alternative to other forms of cargo unitisation. The article also provides a list of international sling manufacturers and intermediate bulk containers with a description of their products.
