ANTIFOULING PAINTS BASED ON ORGANOTIN COMPOUNDS. LEACHING OF ORGANOTIN TOXINS FROM PAINT FILMS
The results of work on leaching of organotin compounds, bis-(tri-n-butylin) oxide and tri-n-butylin acetate, from antifouling paint films are described. The solubility of these toxins in distilled water and in an aqueous solution of sodium chloride was determined. Critical leaching rates of toxins were evaluated by making comparisons of the leaching characteristics with the biological properties of the coatings. Order from: BSRA as No. 48,413.
