PROBABILITY-BASED SHIP IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF BRIDGES
This paper describes a practical procedure of ship impact assessment of existing bridges developed by RAMBOLL in co-operation with the Danish Road Directorate. The procedure, which is based on risk and reliability analyses, has in practice been very cost-efficient at more than 15 Danish bridges. The paper includes a description of the applied decision procedure in the assessment, an overall description of the involved techniques and a schematic presentation of the results.
