RECURSIVE PREDICTION OF TRAFFIC VOLUME FOR CONTROL

The prediction of traffic volumes is an important element of current computerized street traffic control systems. A discussion is presented of a class of real time recursive algorithms to predict traffic volumes. A comparison of these algorithms with those of UTCS-2 and UTCS-3 is presented.
