TRACK STRESSES DUE TO MIXED TRAFFIC OPERATIONS AND ADVANTAGES OF THE INTERCONNECTED SYSTEMS (ROME-FLORENCE LINE)

After a review of the most salient aspects of track dynamics with respect to lateral-bed stability under the action of dynamic cross stresses transmitted by the vehicles through wheel-rail interaction, the article describes the initial results of the new tests carried out under dynamic loading with a system recently developed by the FS and which presents considerable interest.
