RESULTS OF VIBRATION TEST OF STERN PART STRUCTURE ON TWIN SCREW CONTAINER SHIP

To clarify the vibration characteristics of the propeller bossings of large type high-speed twin-screw container ships, the authors conducted vibration tests on the "KK Maru" and "KG Maru" test ships built by Mitsubishi, and compared the test results with those of tests on container ships built by other shipbuilding companies, as well as with the results of the authors' calculation. Results of these comparisons are discussed. One of the findings is that vibration of the bossings at a lower frequency level mainly consists of the shafting vibration.
