TOTAL PRODUCTION SYSTEM COVERING MANUFACTURE AND INSTALLATION OF PIPING

A model of a ship's piping system is usually made before final installation for the purpose of checking measurements and making any necessary adjustments to ensure correct fit-up within the hull structure. This procedure however, extends production time and increases costs. The Tsu shipyard in Japan has developed a computer program, together with its related software, which carries out the necessary calculations and so eliminates the need for a pre-installation model.
