WAVE IMPACT LOADING AND DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF VERTICALLY FACED BREAKWATERS. EUROPEAN RESEARCH PROJECT MAST III/PROVERBS

The paper attempts to briefly outline the main objectives, issues and motivations as well as the organization and participation structure of PROVERBS, a European research project within the Marine Science of Technology Programme (MAST III) on probabilistic design of vertical breakwaters, and to present some selected findings of this project related to the wave impact loading and dynamic response of caisson breakwaters.
