APPLICATION OF DELAYED-ACTION AND QUICK-ACTING FUSES IN SHIPS' MAINS SYSTEMS

Supplementary protection of circuit breakers by delayed-action and quick-acting fuses instead of individual supplementary protection of application of short-circuit current limiting reactors is discussed. General principles of selecting fuses/circuit breakers are given, and the concept of applying short-circuit current limiting fuses in a ship's mains switch-board is examined.
