IES APPROVED METHOD FOR PHOTOMETRIC TESTING OF ROADWAY LUMINAIRES

This report is an updating and replacement for the 1968 "IES approved method for photometric testing of roadway luminaires using incandescent filament, or mercury or sodium electric discharge lamps" . This new version covers today's luminaire types equipped with incandescent, HID (mercury, metal halide, and high pressure sodium) and low pressure sodium lamps. The report refers the reader to the 1975 "IES approved method for photometric testing of outdoor fluorescent luminaires" , if fluorescent luminaires are to be tested. In updating the method, the Committee has added metal halide and high pressure sodium sources, included refinements in testing techniques based on experience since 1968, and added procedures appropriate for computer analysis of test data.
