TECHNICAL REVIEWS ON AUTOMOTIVE ENGINES FUELED WITH METHANOL AND METHANOL-GASOLINE BLENDS

This technical review of automobile engines fueled by methanol and gasoline-methanol blends deals with the characteristics of combustion, output, fuel economy, driveability and exhaust emissions. Discussed and summarized are the effects of such factors as fuel supply system, stratified charge system, gasoline-methanol blends, etc. It is concluded that the methanol-fueled engine offers better performance and smaller exhaust emissions than the gasoline-fueled one.
