The adaptable-zone transportation-assignment package is a computer software system of traffic assignment for subregional analysis. The development of the package was completed in early 1976; it is currently being used by the Tri-State Regional Planning Commission. It combines a windowing operation that creates a zonal structure and network focused on the area of interest with relatively conventional traffic-distribution techniques in an integrated software package. These features make it possible to analyze subregional plans and projects faster and at a lower cost than other operational planning packages. /Author/
