SOME ASPECTS OF HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE (II)

ENKELE ASPECTEN MET BETREKKING TOT DE INSTANDHOUNDING VAN WEGEN (II)

Deflection measurements were carried out with a dynaflect apparatus and a Benkelman beam on 5 experimental pavement sections with different roadbases. Section a: blast furnace slag (German), 0-40 mm; section b: blast furnace slag (Dutch), 0-70 mm; section C: blast furnace slag (3-component slag), 0-40 mm; section D: colliery shale, 0-40 mm; section e: lava, 0-40 mm. The measuring data were statistically analysed. The e-value of the roadbases and the service life of the pavements were calculated using several computer programmes. The results of this evaluation are used for drafting an overlay design procedure which forms part of the project "programmed highway maintenance". /TRRL/
