The properties of concrete with air-cooled slag aggregate, in the low, medium and high strength ranges are studied through experimental investigations and using well established mix design procedures. The results of tests conducted on air-cooled slag concrete for the determination of compressive strength, modulus of rupture, split tensile strength and modulus of elasticity are presented in the paper and discussed with reference to the Indian, British, European and American code predictions. Significant differences are observed between the code predictions and the test results. Based on the test results, some empirical relationships are developed for the prediction of the strength and compressibility of air-cooled slag concrete. /Author/TRRL/
