TWO SIMULTANEOUS VISUAL TASKS AND INNATE TRAITS. IN: ENGINEERING PSYCHOLOGY AND COGNITIVE ERGONOMICS. AEROSPACE AND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS
The paper examines the effectiveness of the focal and ambient vision as an important part of pilot training. This ability is originally determined by in-born physiological mechanisms manifesting itself in the normal characteristic behavior. The goal of the investigation was to evaluate the role of these innate abilities in two simultaneously performed visual tasks. The tasks were presented on five collimated mirrors that covered 180 degrees horizontally and 40 degrees vertically in the visual field. The results obtained in the ambient visual task significantly correlate with some of the innate traits.
