THE VIRTUES OF MICRO-SURFACING
Micro-surfacing is becoming increasingly popular, especially in Europe, and the equipment used to produce and lay the micro-surfacing material is becoming more sophisticated as a result. The U.S. and Europe have opted to use different equipment for micro-surfacing, with Europe using towed machines and U.S. using continuous, high-production machines with hoppers on board the batch machines rather than towed. The on-board system gives greater autonomy to the operator. Automation through an onboard weighing screed manages regulation as well as formulations and stocks. It also provides traceability and quality assurance.
