A METHODOLOGY FOR FORECASTING THE FLEETS TO SERVICE U.S. INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL TRADE UNTIL THE YEAR 2000

This paper describes a methodology to develop fleet forecasts, in five-year increments from 1975 to 2000, of the number, size, and design characteristics of seven types of vessels serving U.S. foreign commerce, by each of the four coasts (Atlantic Coast, Gulf Coast, Pacific Coast and Great Lakes).
