QUANTIFIED FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT TECHNIQUES IN TUNNEL DESIGN
This paper discusses the applications and limitations of various Quantified Fire Risk Assessment (QFRA) methods for tunnel fire safety assessment. Detailed analysis of arbitrary fire scenarios may not prove to be the best approach to assessing risk within the tunnel environment. Certain methods are more applicable to specific fire scenarios and events. The preferred approach addresses the wider objectives of tunnel fire safety, allowing more informed decisions to be made as part of the QFRA during the design process. (A)
