The paper reports that the project to strengthen and replace the keel section of a runway at the Jacksonville International Airport, Jacksonville, Florida, was under the spotlight as the specification called for crushing and reusing the existing 11-in. portland cement concrete pavement. Some of the concrete was mixed with new portland cement and reused as an econocrete base for the new portland cement concrete pavement, while the remainder served as a subbase drainage material for the econocrete.
