HIGH-SPEED TESTING ON THE GERMAN FEDERAL RAILWAY. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS

SCHNELLFAHRVERSUCHE DER DEUTSCHEN BUNDESBAHN-ERGEBNISSE UND FOLGERUNGEN

The DB, in anticipation of passenger train speeds being increased to 200 km/h, has made a 30 km stretch of double track on the Hamm-Bielefeld line available for testing. Attention is being paid in tests to the subsoil and track as well as to the behaviour of vehicles and their effect on the track. Catenaries and radio links have also been studied. The article gives a survey of the results obtained.
