DISPLACEMENTS IN TUNNEL AREAS IN SOFT SOIL
LES DEPLACEMENTS AUTOUR DES TUNNELS EN TERRAIN TENDRE
In this account, delivered to the Panamerican Soil Mechanics Congress in November 1975, the authors traced for the first time lines of equal distorsion and equal volume variations above the arch of a shield-drilled tunnel, by using measurements obtained from multiple-layer tassometers and inclinometers. The concepts of the shoring-up effect and of the free support dome on the arch are given practical and precise expression by means of diagrams.
