CAN BATTERY CARS CO-EXIST WITH OTHER VEHICLES?

The introduction of large numbers of battery electric cars with limited performance capabilities into present day urban and suburban internal combustion-engined traffic could give rise to a considerable safety hazard. To alleviate this possibility it is proposed that performance standards for such vehicles should be introduced. Minimum standards are proposed which will ensure compatibility between both types of vehicle when operating in typical urban and suburban environments. /Author/TRRL/
