AN INTRODUCTION TO MODERN VEHICLE DESIGN. CHAPTER 16. FUTURE TRENDS IN AUTOMOBILE DESIGN
In considering future possibilities in vehicle design, the authors examine electrical and mechanical developments separately, although combined in practice. There will be increased use of integrated design packages allowing new designs to be introduced, with reduced development time, based on existing design modules. Areas of development considered cover materials, energy conservation, emissions, electrical circuit integration, electronic control of engine and transmissions, as well as chassis and braking improvements. For the covering abstract see ITRD E113442.
