ARE YOU SURE OF YOUR GROUND?
This paper summarises the results of research undertaken by Symonds Travers Morgan (now the Symonds Group) for the Department of Environment Transport and the Regions (now DTLR and DEFRA) during the period 1994 to 1998. A key output from the research was the production of "A Guide to Good Practice" on the implications and use of environmental geology information in land use planning. The guidance provides a detailed review of environmental geology issues and of the practical measures which can be used by Local Planning Authorities, developers and other decision-makers to deal with them.
