TOWARDS A MULTI-AGENT SYSTEM FOR ON-LINE SIMULATIONS BASED ON REAL- WORLD TRAFFIC DATA
This paper describes a method for on-line simulations and forecasts of traffic flow based on the combination of real-world traffic data with an agent-based traffic flow model. Using historical traffic demand data and current data, a short-term traffic forecast is derived. The paper also discusses the demand for an anticipatory traffic forecast including decision-making and route choice behavior of the road users.
