A MODEL TO ESTIMATE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF ROAD TRANSPORT
The paper proposes a model based on the integration of network level (macro), single link and single node level (micro), and single vehicle level (ultra micro) models to estimate consumption and emissions at both local and network level. The micro simulation model provides the driving cycles of the vehicles present on the various links of the network in the simulated time window and the ultra micro model provides emissions and fuel consumption of the simulated vehicles more precisely than the average emission factor based models and requires a smaller amount of data than the instantaneous consumption and emissions models. Described is the overall methodology, the links between the models, the characteristics of the micro and ultra micro models, inputs and outputs of the different stages and the final outputs.
