BELGIUM: THE TEC GROUP AND THE THREAT OF MOUNTING INSECURITY
The phenomenon of insecurity on board buses has been evoked regularly both within transit industry and the press during the past few years. Damage to equipment, graffiti, and threats and insults directed at drivers and passengers are some of the types of incidents that have come to light. Occasionally, some of the incidents have resulted in violent flare-ups and injuries. The article examines some of the various actions that have been undertaken by the TEC-Liege-Verviers group. The objectives being pursued are identified and prevention measures are described, both technical and on the ground.
