A STUDY OF THE FORMATION OF UNPUMPABLE RESIDUES OF CRUDE OIL ON TANKERS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PREVENTING MARINE POLLUTION
The paper summarises a study (published in the USSR in 1974) of the formation of unpumpable crude oil residues in tankers which is aimed at preventing marine pollution. A conclusion is reached on the expediency and feasibility of accurately estimating the volume of washed up and accumulated oil residues after each unloading and tank washing, depending on the specific operating conditions of the tanker.
