APPLICATIONS OF LAYERED SYSTEM CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES TO INTERPRETATIONS AND EVALUATIONS OF ASPHALT PAVEMENT PERFORMANCE AND TO DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
The purpose of the paper is to present layered system methods of analysis and evaluation of asphalt pavement performance and to make applications to the problems of design and construction. The unprecedented expansion of major expressway systems in the United States makes imperative the development and use of adequate methods for evaluation, design, and construction control of asphalt pavement systems.
