THE NEW CONCRETE PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE AND REHABILITATION GUIDE FOR QUEBEC: A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH
This paper discusses how the use of cement concrete pavements in Quebec is quite limited and there are very few individuals with expertise in the field. Because of this limited expertise, it was decided to prepare a guide of useful information that would be readily usable by persons involved with concrete pavements. The main objective of the guide would be to standardize practices throughout the province and to disseminate information about concrete pavements. The guide contains four main sections: the first describes 25 maintenance treatments or rehabilitation techniques applicable to rigid pavements, the second offers decision trees for maintenance treatment selection, the third presents a step-by-step method for performing rehabilitation study and the last section contains a series of forms used to record construction and periodic maintenance information specific to concrete pavements.
