ANALYSIS CONCERNING METHOD OF PROVIDING TRAFFIC INFORMATION AND USERS' DISSATISFACTION WITH THE INFORMATION PROVIDED. 1

This article presents an analysis of present and future methods of providing road traffic information. It describes how a survey was conducted at toll booths in Japan in order to assess users' dissatisfaction regarding road traffic information. Results indicate that more than 80% of the drivers who use road information media found them effective. 65% of the drivers indicated dissatisfaction regarding the lack of information about the entire road network. They requested methods such as Internet services and automatic responding telephones for providing personal information.
