A FAST AND ROBUST VISION BASED ROAD FOLLOWING ALGORITHM

In this paper, the authors present a method for detecting and tracking a road lane from images provided by an onboard camera. A model driven algorithm forms the basis of the detection method, with detection being made in optimal interest zones. The tracking process allows the vehicle to be located and gives a confidence interval of the roadside for the next image. The method is applied on marked as well as non- marked images. Results indicate the robustness and precision of this approach.
