STONE SURFACING IN THE STREETSCAPE
The potential for increased use of stone (often as setts) in UK streetscapes is described using slides from a computer presentation. Imaginative stone streetscapes from abroad are illustrated and examples of similar schemes in the UK are given. The opportunities for a range of textures and finishes and for modern and historical approaches are described. Budgetary, design and quality control considerations are outlined. For the covering abstract see ITRD E113206.
