ROBUSTNESS OF FIBRE COMPOSITE STRUCTURES LOADED IN FLEXURE
This paper focuses on the behavior of fiber composite structures in flexure. A new material independent measure of robustness is introduced. The approach allows for a fair comparison, in terms of safety and robustness, between composites and conventional materials such as steel and concrete and is being considered for inclusion in the Australian structural design standard for fiber composites.
