RC COLUMNS STRENGTHENED BY FRP UNDER UNIAXIAL COMPRESSION
The paper discusses the investigation of a series of reinforced concrete columns under uniaxial compression. The parameters changes were: cross sectional shapes; sizes; and fiber ratio of specimens. Based on the optimum layers of the FRP wraps, an additional group of concrete columns without steels were fabricated. The paper compares the results of the experiments with those of the reinforced ones to study the influence of steel bars to fiber wrapped columns. The study's aim is to investigate the enhancing effect of the fiber reinforced columns while the above mentioned parameters are changed as well as the influence of steel bars. Also, the experimental data using theory and agreement between both of them is satisfactory
