PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT GUIDE

The book presents a guide to good management practices for the construction of flexible and rigid pavements in Canada. It is suggested that activities associated with pavement construction such as planning, design, construction and maintenance, should be related to each other to optimise investments in a pavement management system. The guide defines these relationships in the following sections: (1) basic concepts of pavement management, (2) programming network investments, (3) optimising project investment, (4) pavement evaluation, (5) structural design of flexible and rigid pavements, (6) construction, (7) maintenance, (8) data banks, (9) guidelines for implementing pavement management practices, and (10) guidelines for research management. /TRRL/
